It doesnt have a very loud whistle but its so pretty that it doesnt matter

I only boil water in it nothing else

Obviously if you fill it too full when it boils the water will come out the spout and if you have a gas stove having the flame too high will cause the heat to come up around the sides of the tea kettle and damage the paint

I oredered this more for looks than function but water heats up quickly in it

The tea kettle was exactly as described and did have a few scratches but lets face it folks its going to get scratches in the course of use anyhow
