Pros

Both filters are quiet as i have open tanks. Quiet and reliable. However, this newer one is much louder than the one it replaced.

The filter media is great. It cleans very easily at setup. Comes with either a clip, or a clip and suction cup.

Ordered two for my two betta tanks. The tank has 5 tetras in it and a few ornaments and stays very clean. Does not seem to disturb my fish either.

The motor sits in a cartridge that's the bottom 1/3 of the unit. The back end of the impeller is actually a cylinder which looks like a tiny grey soda can about 1 long, but it's a permanent magnet. Make sure to pull it straight up. Plug it in.

Cons

The filter * in from the bottom and it * his fins in and they became trapped in the motor. Way too much suction. Poor fish was exhausted/distressed after <12 hours of use.

New out of the box the filter pump would overpower the flow rate of the filter cartridge. The mounting bracket is flimsy and doesn't hold the filter straight. The filter clogs up where it should be filtering on the bottom. I am upset because i really ... Read More

No noise easy to clean and super affordable compare to those fancy cat water fountains and filterslove it love it

I got this for a 10 gal betta tank a while back because it was the cheapest i could find and everything went well at first
