We used to have absolutely the best diaper pail that kept all odors out even when you were changing the liners bought 8 years ago with our first child i think it was from baby first of baby trend or something but it eventually broke

They stopped making it so when it broke we replaced it with a diaper genie

His room has no odor when you go in and the design makes sense the trap door on the dg was always getting out of line for us and that is the mechanism that evenntually broke

Only 4 stars because it kind of cheats by having the deordorizing spray and you do have to buy replacements but at least there is no special liner so you can just use your own kitchen trash bags and it does not keep the smell in when you change the liner

I think this is a great product except that it has one design flaw

The flap is the design of the pail and it wouldnt work without it

If the pail was taller it could fit more diapers but the flap would still hit the top and take up the same amount of space so it would be pointless to make it taller to try to solve the problem
