Pros & Cons
Pros
Repairing a 15 year old kitchenaid dishwasher. Replacement part has a pulley wheel in the top and bottom position. My kitchen aid dishwasher door when opened and closed is quieter than when it was new.
Easy to install after watching a utube video. Installation takes 2 minutes to replace the cables and pulleys. Just order this kit, and follow the instructions on the youtube video.
Cons
This part, and the replacement are designed to fail. Sold as a direct replacement for my specific dishwasher, but is not the same part at all.
Door is 1 1/2 inches too short, super noisy, etc. Overstretching the springs is probably the cause of the loud noise others are complaining of.
The pulley at the top squeaks unbearably loud when the tensioned string puts pressure on it.
The ones i received are the older style red and white striped cord and angled plastic attachment part. The other type attaches at an angle. Both counter-spring ropes are too short. One of the new nylon-rope cables were damaged.
