Pros & Cons
Pros
This book is my all time favorite for inspiration and finding purpose in life. Worth buying in hardback. I am grateful this book landed on my hand.
The shock of a cancer diagnosis literally * the air out of a person. I am a stage iii melanoma survivor. Extraordinarily well written saga of a young physician’s struggles to deal with the inevitable.
American neurosurgeon and writer, paul sudhir arul kalanithi. His writing is miraculous. I am envious of good writers, and kalanthi's prose are awe inspiring.
Cons
Too many memoirs are just to toot the author's horn. This book reads less like wisdom, and more like a narcissistic swan song. I join those who think this is a much over-hyped book.
The binding is choppy and the pages look like they were ripped at the end. Tales of selfless heroism have no life outside fiction. The classical hero never spots his tragic flaw.
