I used 18 gauge stranded wire and the only way i could make them work is to strip the wire back 12 bend it over twice so that there was wire across the end

If i tried to fan the wire out as the instructions show the threads would jam

I do have to agree with other reviewers though that either the screw isnt long enough of the colored washer is too thick that it doesnt allow the screw to clamp down on smaller gauge wire

They are very solidly constructed and the only reason gave a 4 star on value is because they are a it on the pricey side
