Pros

Easy to install, using the wd set up software. Great drive to replace an older eide drive with. In order to replace your boot drive, you need to move your os to the new drive, and make it bootable.

For $59 and free shipping this can't be beat in my opinion.

The product is good and was received promptly. Ease of ordering, quick shipping, instructions that came with this and it's performance.

Wd caviar series are a good value per gb, run cool, and i have never had one fail. I use wd and samsung ssds and have not had problems like other techs have had with cheap, no name ssds.

Great storage for desktop pcs. Has several for backup redundancy. Installed the drive as a second hd in my dell 8200.

Cons

I was disappointed with the quality and costs is pretty high for a * product. Can't send it back as it stored backup finance data and given that the drive does not function, i am unable to wipe the data clean. Never have this kind of problem with amaz... Read More

No problem installing this drive as a secondary drive and i copied everything from my original drive to a partition i made on this drive

The data lifeguard tools works great which comes with the drive

So i took a disk image swapped in this drive restored the image to it and was done in less than a half hour

Price was very reasonable better than expected

Extremely inexpensive and easy to install just unplug the old one and plug in the new one and presto

34i figure these drives are cheaper than having to take your computer to a repair place and pay 50 an hour to get computer going again

Bottom line for 150 after rebate for a 320gb drive with a very nice toolset you cant go wrong

The two leading brands are both very good

But of the 2 best i think western digital has an edge

I always used western digital mechanical hard drives because i had other brands dead out of the box

I have used ibm hitachi and seagate drives
