Pros
Remote access via mycloud is great (app on an iphone). Choose the manual option on mycloud. Com. Wd mycloud, i use acronis backup, provides me the protection and assurance.
This deals with those things very smoothly.
Cons
The app on android is janky and i found in the end it was easier to view the unit from android native file app and use its network storage browser. Copy always fails at some point, it creates the file structure for all the folders, then copies a few f... Read More
None not one of the wd software programs work. Even if it works it is useless. Interestingly the knowledge base has no interventions from wd.
Tried rebooting. Tried reinstalling. Works sometimes, then stops. All the can recommend is different levels of reset whislt crossing their fingers it resolves.

If youve read the other reviews you know there are some issues with regards to the software as a result i didnt update the firmware to the latest version

The new app also doesnt show you whats in the folder when choosing where to upload them whereas the older one did not sure why they remove useful functionality with upgrades

Also the fans can be a bit noisy when running which is not all the time usually just after youve uploaded a load of photos and it starts processing the images for cloud preview

I dont really want all the media server picture gallery remote access cloudy run containers on it type complexity i just need a reasonable fileserver and rsync is a bonus

The ui is a bit painful on first delivery because you have to set all sorts of things up before you even get to the update firmware option
