Pros

These ferro rods are a good size, thus easy to handle in your fire-making. Many folks say the striker needs being high carbon steel. Think back on the ole flint and steel used for centuries.

For earth batteries these mag rods also work better than galvanized or s/s rods. These are hard for ferro rods but they produce a lot of spark. Me make big with sparky stick.

The price is low but performance is top notch. These are economical and work well. Reasonable price and works as advertised.

Cons

Save your money buy a better ferro rod. These things produce barely any sparks at all, even when struck by the hardest knives i have. Not enough spark to light a fire.

Nice weight and about as small as i would what to go with a ferrocerium rod without having a handle to hold onto it

I have a few in each bushknife and bugout bag
