I havent tested the waterproofness of it but from the design it looks like being exposed to the elements will not be an issue

Note after looking at the two options for string length both are listed as 33 feet but one is 5 meters about 17 feet and the other is 10 meters about 33 feet so please note that they are not both 33 feet

The string seems very flimsy at first but it can stand carefully moderate use

If you want to be able to read anything with them like using them for gazebo lighting id suggest you get a white color also one of their options not blue
