So detach it from the purse and feed the clasp through both lg loops on the corner of the bag from the outside in through the outer loop first then the inner loop

Pull through to desired length and then feed the clasp back through the outer loop only and attach it to one of the smaller rings on the strap itself as shown in the pics

I wish the shoulder and hip strap were separate pieces the tail is too long on the hip
