Its far better than a kidseat at the back of the bicycle because a you have better communication with the kid and b the agerange is sufficient meaning that when the kid doesnt fit anymore it is already old enough to ride a bike

The straps are a bit large for her 1 year old and cannot be tightened as much as we need but we found a way of fixing this issue

The seat can be easily removed from the bar when needed but taking the bar off and then back on
