Pros & Cons
Pros
These are the dividers that the professional captains use. The thumb wheel makes for very easy one-hand operation. When testing for my captains license the precision of these dividers and their ability to hold when set was invaluable.
Finally bought these and couldn't be happier. Found my original after buying this one. They appear to be durable too. It's in the drawer next to me now.
Cons
The radius on these things is so narrow you have to do the range circle be-bop and run out a couple ranges to get an lop. This risks inaccuracy and could result in a navigational error.

The vessel im currently assigned to has 2 pairs of these in their navigation tool chest and they seem pretty ubiquitous elsewhere as well as ive encountered them on multiple vessels before

Personally though i find them uncomfortable to hold and the extra tension caused by the wheel mechanism requires more force to adjust which over time becomes a nuisance
