This means it will not start an engine with a completely dead or damaged battery thats not outputting any voltage

This feature also makes it difficult to test the unit which i like to do by disconnecting one battery terminal

I tried it 3 times in a row waiting a minute or so between jumps to avoid overheating the unit for a more robust test

It started easier each subsequent time and afterward the unit was still showing almost full charge
