Bought this to replace an ancient drive failing in my nas. They do what they say on the tin. It's a testament to their longevity.
This was supplied in a standard amazon box with protective packing. I purchase the wd hdd nas plus red as they are all cmr, which is like the first one i purchased a few years ago.
Cons
Smr (efax) sent. It is measurably awful when used with a nas. Wd says amazon shouldn't have supplied me wit an oem drive so they can't help.
Western digital are not prepared to recognise a * failure under any form of goodwill policy. Current manufacturer issues all seem to be reports of doa drives or subsequent early failures within six months.

Just do a quick google search for the model as anything over 8tb will have a ax model but is a cmr drive

Unfortunately with this order i ran into problems in that one of the drives data connector was damaged

As i couldnt find another new unit at the same or near enough price i ended up having to return both

They were in the box with just paper to stop them sliding about there was no air pocket type packaging to protect the drives
