Pros & Cons

Pros

This wayne pump is the quietest i have ever heard. Operationally the wayne pump and zoeller check valve is quiet. The battery backup pump is actually slightly louder than the primary pump.

Jackel sump pump basin and lid are black in color. Lots of elbow grease is required digging the pit. The battery is capable of running the pump for days in the event of a power outage.

While not cheap, the unit gives a homeowner great peace of mind for when we are out of town and not able to start a generator if power is lost. Cheap insurance, quality equipment, pease of mind.

Battery fit perfectly into the battery case. Fits into a 16 inch diameter sump pit with no issues. Both units fit inside together in the sump crock.

Cons

This is the second failure on this pump and we are averaging about a year of function before failure. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of wayne pumps if you are looking for a reliable sump motor. The ups was not meant for running a motor and briefl...  Read More

It appears to be a design flaw. The only option now (other than return it) is to a buy a separate third party multi stage charger.

It is so devious for a company to try and mislead you. The only mention about batteries is to say that they are not included under the 5 year warranty.

Between the two pump installs drilling and mods and running 3 more drain lines that were never installed originally heater tank ac condensation and humidifier it took me about 6070 minutes for all of the work testing and cable dressing

Dont bother with the unsealed batteries and the liions arent worth the price especially as they cold pose a fire hazard in the humid environment youll be using them in unless you know the maker well and can trust the quality of the sealed system especially since this charging system doesnt have the electronics to protect against surges or overcharging of liion batteries
