Also whatever application youre running on the pi is going to consume a lot of cpu time it is video after all so your pi will be putting off some heat too not nearly as much as the camera but its something to keep in mind

Neat feature the red light on the board that lights up when the camera is active can be turned off through software

The ir leds put off a dim red glow thats visible in the dark but if thats a problem you should be able to find a filter somewhere that only lets ir no visible light through

Note that this camera is not wellsuited for daytime use since its a night vision camera theres no internal ir filter like there would be in a normal camera therefore images captured during the day will have very distorted colors

My other research tells me noir should not get any hotter than a normal pi camera

If it does i will probably by a second and see if that has the same issue
