I plan to add more stones as i go but for now im quite pleased with the results
With the 3 preset angles 20 25 and 30 and the adjustable blade guide youre good to go with just the included stones

I dont think these are real stones but some kind of steel or aluminum substrate when they place the courseness on to simulate a stone grit

The refills seem rather expensive and its aggravating that there are 3 different sets of honing rods that are 3 different grits and this machine only provides one set

Ive been using a chefs choice 300 for at least 10 years its adequate but not great
