I received a pair of these socks which had black and white stripes and i did not consider them attractive.

It is pretty chilly were i live so, i wore these socks inside sneakers while raking leaves in the yard and they had my feet sweating.

They remind me of some very thick hunting socks i bought several years ago that had a soft, quilted material inside that kept my feet warm.
