My wife was talking with our daughter on the cell phone and i could clearly hear what my daughter was saying to my wife from 10 feet away with the volume all the way up

They will work with rechargeable nimh batteries but you will not get much sound amplification out of them

I clearly heard everything that was going on around me leaves blowing in the wind a crow calling in the distance a squirrel barking at me from a tree behind me yet the shot itself was as muffled as if i were wearing earplugs
