For no reason it simply stopped retracting and we only use the leash about once a week

I tried to take it apart and fix it but the thing is secured with weird triangular head screws that require a special tool to remove

We lived with it to avoid the annoyance of returning it as it worked just barely well enough to get by with

It limply retracts dragging on the sidewalk and getting tangled around the dogs feet
