If you are using a very fine needle these will not work

If you are using a thread that is very close to the max size of the size for the needle these will not work

First the wire has to fit through the eye if the eye is too small there is no way they will work

Then you have to loop the thread through the wire

So see if you have a small eye or are working with thread near the max size for the needle they will not work

And they make threading a snap on my lock stitch machines and chain stitch machineyou may need to bend the wires as to make them work for diff machines however when i do that i put them in the machines drawer and use them just for that machine that they were bent for
