If you want to determine if you are getting a crankshaft position sensor signal that is needed to produce spark this tester is a good place to start good spark means the ckp is putting out a signal

Obviously the long wand allows you to get the sensor over the coils which can be a bit difficult to reach

While i had previously had 2 of them go bad this tool allowed me to see that this time they were all firing correctly so i knew the problem was fuel delivery at that point and was able to find one injector that had a bad connecter plug and another one that had just completely died

I was able to move forward to learn the source of my problem turned out to be a header gasket leak
