It has a lid that screws on that i am sure is ant proof and likely water proof. I haven't found any ants near this new container yet & this one has the rubber seal that should keep them out.
I buy 13lb bags of food as it's the smallest bag that brand makes. Holds a full 25lb bag of cat food from costco.

Cons
The lid on the 25lb version is a sticking, scrubbing battle to take off and put on every time. First off the gasket had cracks in it defeating the purpose of sealing it properly. There’s no gasket to fully seal the container.
The lid on the 25lb version does not fit or spin correctly and i have to open these multiple times a day to feed my pets. This was down to about the last 5+ pounds of food, i refill a smaller pouring type of container for indoor use from it each week.... Read More
