Even though the description does state that it will have an odor and will dissipate once opened for a while

Keep in mind your face is in close proximity all night and i dont like smelling an odor although not foul just not pleasant

I only gave it 4 stars though because it’s a cooling gel pillow but doesn’t really stay cool

The only major problem is that the gel r pillow itself smells like chemicals and plastic

However the gel got all gooey and sticky after awhile and i had to replace the pillow
