I live in northern illinois and would say this will be a good dress coat for winter but is not warm enough to wear for any extended outdoor time on truly cold winter days

The only odd thing is that the hood doesnt cover all of your head so youll definitely need a hat with it in cooler weather and a scarf since it doesnt button up all the way
