I bought this after seeing part of the bbc version in which clips from these films are interspersed with comments by various historians

The bonuses are good a disc of 19 small sections 3 4 minutes each on different aspects of the restoration of the hall of mirrors dated december 2003 to march 2005 and an entertaining 50 minute programme on the making of the third louis xvi film

Having no real knowledge of french history i sometimes was not quite sure what was going on in the films and had not even heard of many of the main characters so kept pausing to consult wikipedia
