For the speed controller it starts at medium to control the fan because it draws so much power you still have a pretty wide control just starting it at low it doesnt get enough power to start

I needed something that would move air through a 50foot length of 4inch flexible vinyl duct and the first fan i tried which was the ventech df4 did not have the power to do that the air did not move at all

When the variable speed control is used the motor makes a higher pitch noise but that stopped after about 20 minutes of burn in time

We had to vent up and out the roof so its too far for the dryer to push the hot damp air out

The controller is cool simple and appears it could work with just about any 120v device untested
