Agree with one comment that the big pocket on the back for tucking away the shoulder straps can be used to keep travel documents passports etc for ease of access and not accessible to others

Theres a big pocket on the back for tucking away the shoulder straps if you want to use the carry handle instead but we used the pocket to keep our a4 travel doc wallet in for ease of access as its pressed to your back then its not accessible to any pick pockets only to you when you take it off to get the docs out

In particular none of the dimensions push the carryon boundaries for any common airline except for the 20cm depth requirement on some airlines

There is not a dedicated padded laptop pocket though this means that the storage capacity is maximised there is an unpadded sleeve in the front pocket
