Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

The frame is well made and sturdy, so there is no worry of it flexing or breaking. Takes a minute to get your phone positioned correctly but once you do it stays in place well. Easy to adjust to your comfort.

Cons

Idea is great the execution is not. No ability to adjust tension on your device, to keep it in place. Rather deal with that, than devices falling out during use, and cracking on the floor/rocks or worse lost in deep waters.

The original item was too small for the eyepiece of my scope

Likely not but not because of any limitations of the mount more that decent astrophotography takes significant telescope skills

Still ive taken some nice terrestrial images through my telescope and can likely get some fun moonshots and maybe even a fuzzy saturn or jupiter with a bit of practice

There is a loose insert to get to to clamp that small

The easiest way to get it set up properly is to mount the lense and the phone in the fixture before putting the lense in the telescope point it toward light and adjust it until you see a blurry circle in the middle of your phone screen thats when you know your camera is aligned with the lense

Then mount the lensefixturephone group in the telescope and adjust the focus until the subject is in view
