Pros

Valley's programming/serial control cables for amateur radio gear use the ftdi chip set, so no issues with drivers or counterfeit chips. No problem with the chipset. All connections seem very strong with strain relief and over-molded connectors.

Usb vx-1 fdti works great. Works great with my ft-60r and chirp programming software. Tests on several different hardware setups.

Instructions are on the container bag. It works the same for chirp software. Chirp shareware is also highly recommended.

The cable runs on windows 10 after downloading the recommended drivers. This means you will have to find and reload the older driver to get the cable to work with your radio. Worked for me with windows 8. Go to the website and download the cable drive... Read More
