Pros

It's not cheap so after a few replacements you will have spent the amount you originally paid for the vacmaster. This not a drawback or a negative. There are finer filters for different applications. Easy to install, consistent quality.

This filter fits my kobalt kwm508 from lowe's. It's the same sku as the original filter that came with the vac. The new filter is slightly shorter than the original cartridge.

Cons

The filters appear to be the same size as the original but the retainer will not attach the filter properly. The retainer latch is tricky. Buyer beware, as is, this is too tight to go on a vacmaster 5 gal shop vac purchased from costco.

Vacmaster sells a variety of sizes and does a pretty poor job indicating which filter you need or that other options are available. No rocks, no nails, no wood debris of any kind. Notified manufacturer, but no response.
