Pros

The one downside i have found is the guide is tapered. It keeps the tap perpendicular to the surface being tapped, even on round stock. Great for hand tapping.

Great tool for drilling straight holes. Eliminates the need for using center drills. I typically use more sophisticated methods (mill, drill press with a centering device), but this works great.

Cons

Tap just flops around in the hole and begs to be broken. This is one of those cases where patents are bad. The patent needs to be dissolved.
