Got this because the one supplied by celestron with the binoculars was too flimsy and not sturdy enough

The plastic ones were very unstable causing the binoculars to shake if you went anywhere near them

Seems to do the job very well tried plastic which came with celestron 15x70 bino whilst ok the metal unit ordered at same time appears to be less wobbly on new edsi ball head tripod

Update if buying this item would suggest if for heavy binoculars you also find a 2 screw holed slotted top adapter plate to match line up with the 2 holes on the l bracket to ensure any rotational movement is kept to a minimum whilst scanning any views thro binos

I found that the adaptor screws in to the binoculars easily but it does loosen slightly if the binoculars are gripped which was evident on the monopod and ball head tripod setup

It could do with having a small grommet or washer to secure it better to the binoculars
