This adapter saves that expense and although the 2015 and 2017 mbp chargers are rated at different wattages the 2017 13 mbp will run happily off the more powerful charge using this magsafe adapter
Works with my macbook pro perfect as i already have two original apple 85w chargers for my 2015 macbook pro i didnt want to pay apples prices and buy another 60w charger for my 2017 mackbook pro
Use multiple times a day and have had no issues whatsoever
