The hdmi output works great at all resolutions up to the advertised 4k at 30fps. This is great if you want to connect another monitor that uses hdmi.
Bought to use the nintendo switch without the docking station. I’d like it to have had three usb ports; most of us have a mouse and separate keyboard connected. It’s nice not having to unplug one to accommodate something else.

All i do know is that its worked fast with no glitches so far

The usb device is read straight away on the chromecast and there have been no issues with loss of connectivity

At this stage the monitor will display a samsung dex screen and the phone a different dex screen asking you to tap continue on the phone

All well and good if the phones screen is working but if it has a broken display then you are left wondering where the continue button is on the phone and even worse where the mouse is on the screen as it is not repeated on the monitor at this stage

Luckily pressing the esc key on the keyboard allows everything to spring to life and this stupid samsung dex screen to be bypassed

The same startup performance is exhibited by a samsung tab s5e the device i am writing this review on now connected to an external keyboard mouse large screen monitor and charging away via the adaptor

As i believe this weird behaviour is related to to the samsung dex firmware and there is an easy workaround i will not be dropping a star in the review
