This item was ideal for connecting to the ethernet directly and it does work at very high speeds very efficiently however i have recently now come across the issue where its intermittently working 6 months from purchase

It was not used often and it was stored in my macbook bag most of the time safely away from any dangers and now it only works when the dongle is held in specific positions suggesting the wiring inside the cable is not robust
