The usb c cable coming out of the dock is on the left side if you set a laptop on top of it though so it will not work that way if your only usb c ports are on the right

When plugging it in i didnt need any drivers for any of the functions on it to work

The only issue i had at all was the ethernet port only registered as a 100 mbitsec connection which is plenty of what the laptop can handle but not quite the speed of my internet connection
