The cable is frayed -exposed wires- and overall filthy. The plastic bag was ripped. There is continuity on all the conductors, but the data signals and/or voltage level just didn't get from one end of this cable to the other.

It might have been because the cable length was shorter 12 vs 19 or the quality of materials and design
The improvement in sound quality was dramatic

It works well for my surface pro 6 and plugable usb 3
It’s a great value for the price paid
So yes even among cheapy usb cables there is a large difference in sound
It replaced my generic blue cable that came with my idsd bl which was 1

Its a usb cable that is long and does what its suppose to transfer data between devices
