I previously used a well known us merchant on amazon that sold american made merv 12 filters but they got greedy and started charging exorbitant prices

Despite being merv 11 filters i find that they trap dust and allergens alot more effectively

The case of 12 works out to be a little less per filter and trust me dont hold back

Get yer years supply and you can change them out once a month like you should and maybe the dozen will last a bit more than a year because of the lower blower fan usage during spring and autumn

Make sure that when you compare that you use the merv ratings and dont be confused by anyones self rating system
