Area on the unit works very sporadically

I can get different colors when i slide my finger both before and after holding the on area for 3 sec

There doesnt seem to be consistency when i really do try to turn it off so it is hard to experiment starting from being off

Third time one of them cut off and wouldnt turn on even after resetting

The other one wouldnt cut off so i pressed the reset button and it wont turn on again
