When you using the variable setting there is hum when as if the unit is not grounded properly but it doesnt affect the performance

Following the directions i start the belt sander in full mode and then turn it down and i find that the motor stalls out if i try to go to slow

So i try again from start dont try to go that slow and then when i put working load on the sander it stalls out again

Good speed controller has built in fuse to protect the controller has a decent sized cord and adds a little extra convenience since you can hang up the controller and remove it instead of it being connected to the plug which would give it no mobility at all
