Pros
If your looking for a hing to add to the weber smokey joe, this is like using miter saw to cut a cantaloupe. Works fantastic for the webber kettle.
This item solves that and it is easy to use. The hinge is solid and easy to install, provided that you know how to use a drill have the the right drill bit attachments. A little pricey.
Wsm hinge can be configured to cover the holes made by the kettle version. One caution when positioning it, watch out for the grate support tabs.

When it is in the locked open position, it’s not open very far. I think the angles of mine were off from the manufacture because it does not line up!

I nicked one and ended up with the nut in the way of the grate

5 is that i do wish it opened a little wider and price is a little high

Tweaked the tabs and all is well just got in a hurry i guess

They end up hitting the actually grill inside so dont follow the instructions exactly or you will run into problems

It is almost impossible to lower the lid with the handle in the front because lid needs to be lifted vertically 1st to unlatch it

So you need to use the top handle which means you might need to lift the lid vertcally from the side of the smoker not directly in front if it

The hinge designed for the weber kettle will not work for the wsm because the lid does not lift off the smoker high enough

If you install the kettle version first the wsm hinge will not use the same holes because the wsm hinge is larger

The little hook on the lid just doesnt work well to hang the lid on the kettle a design problem for weber
