Of course its better for measuring some things than others since you have to shine the laser point on something to measure

There is also a mode where it takes multiple measurements and shows you the minmax measurements in case youre not sure if you measured the shortest distance between two points such as walls

If youre in measuring mode longpressing the off button turns it off but if youre in memory mode it erases the memory

One mode is for a normal button press and the other is if you press the button longer until it beeps

There doesnt seem to be any way to turn the beep off or make it quieter which is too bad but perhaps its a safety feature so people around are aware youre using the laser measurer

However i later noted that many of the reviews were of the type i was given a free unit for an unbiased review whatever that means
