Pros
Easy to install with 6 mounting self tapping screws make the storage box very sturdy.
This locking storage box is fantastic! It also fits underneath the bed cover with plenty of clearance. Can still slide 2 sheets of plywood underneath case.
Cons
All i have in it is a trailer hitch. Bracket is metal but the actual hinge & bushings that hold the box in place are lightweight injected molded plastic. Replacement bracket costs nearly as much as a new one.
The finish is dull and lackluster, lacks the cross detail, and is flat and dull not textured and glossy. Overall the new version lacks the quality and appeal of the older version. Looks like a design flaw.

The box is plastic but feels robust and the closing mechanism is solid and secure

The icing on the cake for me was the fact that both boxes were keyed alike even though i purchased them 1 day apart

Then after about a year and a couple rv trips the box would uncouple and swing out while traveling

Nothing would keep it from swinging out and i had to keep a bungee cord around it to keep it in place

I finally diagnosed it as the small uplift tang on the stationary bracket had worn away and there was nothing keeping the locking pin from sliding out

I purchased these direct from the oem as that was the only way i was able to get both the passenger and drivers side boxes keyed alike and installed them on a 2004 dodge 3500 pickup
