It moves like a saga and can be a bit slow at times but you will not be disappointed
The narrative does bog down a little with the focus on every little fact but still not egregiously enough to deduct a star
Their interaction with the various indian tribes as well as the indians with other tribes was very interesting

Ambrose excels in the details of the story of lewis and clark though the main emphasis is on lewis

Most if not the entire crew thought the northwest river was the way to go but lewis and clark felt the southwest to northeast flowing river was the way to go which was correct

I had an earlier edition and somehow misplaced it so ordered another copy
