The tongue is not attached and therefore i feel they may leak inside in water but with the snowthe tongue may stop a light wetness from coming in

They can be slick on ice most foot wear is unless designed specifically not to be but they arent overly slick like the two pairs of doc martin work boots i own they are down right treacherous on ice
