Pros & Cons
Pros
The chain & hook make it easy to hang. Used uco candle lantern during a winter power outage. Use the white 8 hr candles for brighter light and the 12 hr beeswax candles for use in your shelter.
The powder coating is even and not patchy. It is functional, but doesn't seem as sturdy as the rest of the unit. It works fine, and is plenty sturdy for what it is.
Cons
Price is way too high for what is advertised vs. Seems cheaply made. Seems like false advertising. Seems someone should check the merchandise!
Powdercoating causes 'rattling' (no matter how you reload the spring into the bottom) also the base is plastic and i can see it breaking or loosening over time. It's lightweight though easy to pack but it's so much smaller than expected.
Just now got around to replacing it with the little green one. Honestly, it's sad. I'm afraid this could have been a bad situation in front of my pack.
Highlights
Quality
These put out a surprising amount of light especially when used with the reflectors
Walking under candlelight is so amazing and this makes it simple with the glass to block the wind
Competitiveness
That lit candle emitted plenty of light to see in a 15x15’ room
This kit is in my bugout bag
Needs have a dedicated mold available for candles that is made in the usa
