So as goldilocks would say the unifi dream router and lowerend consumer units are 34too small34 while the overkill rackmounted unifi dream machines are pricier larger and 34too big34 for my home needs

Its replacing an aging protectlipfsense firewall and took over from the unifi controller i was running in a container to manage my 90 unifi managed switches and aps so im losing some flexibility in favor of simplifying my setup a bit and streamlining the management experience
