Pros

Not the cheapest ferro rod out there, but trust-worthy and worth every penny. The only thing i may change is the cord that comes on it. Definitely happy with the seller and the product.

The striker is sharp enough to throw plenty of sparks from the rod. The sparks are plentiful and there are always a few molten bits of metal that burn long enough to ignite a jute cord or other tender. Some rods that look like this rod from others are...  Read More

Cons

On the back side of the ferro rod, which was hiden by the packaging there were four large holes in the rod. The striker provided is junk.

Quality

This is a quality product that works great when used properly.

Does not seem to throw as many sparks as shown in video, but does start good tinder with the first strike.

High quality, large item that is an asset to any survivalists backpack!

As with many other uberleben items i have purchased, this proves to be of very high quality.

Packaging/appearance

Once you scrap off the black protective coating, you can strike up some serious sparks.

Competitiveness

This, and a morakniv knife are all you need to start a fire.

Great item, will definitely be buying more from the manufacturer.

I brought this along to my son's scouting event where all the patrols competed in fire-starting.

Yes, it’s heafty and weighs somewhere close to a pound but it’s strong, durable and gives you 20,000 chances to get a fire going!

Don't look at the price like i have for years , you will be wasting your time with smaller rods that are too hard and throw too few sparks.
